The moment we walked into Porto Roma's restaurant, we were greeted with a warm smile and a wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread.
We knew that everything in here is prepared with freshly collected vegetables, high- quality extra virgin olive oil from the olive trees of the maily, daily caught fish and organically grown meet.
We quickly scanned the menu, and our eyes were immediately drawn to the Artos. It was a soft and fluffy bread that had a slight sweetness to it, and it was the perfect start to our meal.
We also ordered the Pita bread and the Pie, both of which were freshly baked and had a lovely texture. The Pita bread was soft and chewy, while the Pie had a crispy crust and a delicious filling. We were already off to a great start!
For our appetizers, we ordered the Bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, feta & basil pesto. The bruschetta was a work of art, with vibrant colors and fresh ingredients. The feta cheese was perfectly balanced with the basil pesto, and the tomatoes were juicy and bursting with flavor. We could tell that the ingredients were of the highest quality, and it made all the difference in the taste.
Next up were the Dips, and we decided to try the Homemade tzatziki. The tzatziki was creamy and had the perfect amount of garlic and cucumber, making it the perfect accompaniment to the bread and pita.
For our cold appetizer, we ordered the Baked feta with tomato and olives. The feta was soft and melted in our mouths, and the combination of the tomato and olives added a nice contrast in flavors.
We decided to try the Green salad with beetroot, feta cheese and mussels. The salad was a work of art, with vibrant colors and fresh ingredients. The beetroot was cooked to perfection and added a lovely sweetness to the dish. The feta cheese and mussels added a nice contrast in flavors, and the dressing tied everything together perfectly.
Moving on to our main courses, we decided to go for the Lobster Spaghetti. The pasta was cooked to perfection and had a creamy sauce that was rich and flavourful highlighting all the taste of the lobster. Perfectly cooked, and it was evident that the dish was made with care and attention to detail.
We also ordered the Grilled xiphia with oil lemon & salad, which was a swordfish steak grilled in lemon-olive oil sauce and served with a fresh salad. The steak was cooked just right, and the sauce was tangy and refreshing. The salad was a great addition to the dish, adding a nice crunch and freshness to each bite.
Overall, our dining experience at Porto Roma was nothing short of fantastic. The food was made with care and attention to detail, and the ingredients were of the highest quality. The service was also exceptional, and we felt welcomed and valued as customers. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Zakynthos!
