We at ZakynthosAPP had the pleasure of experiencing the "Half Day Tour Marathonisi, Cameo Island, and Keri Caves," and we couldn't be more satisfied with the incredible adventure we had. This small-group tour allowed us to discover some of Zakynthos' top attractions and breathtaking scenery in just half a day.
We were given the choice between morning and afternoon tour times, and upon choosing our preferred time, we were picked up in a luxury Mercedes-Benz, making our journey comfortable and hassle-free. Our first stop was Kalamaki, where we swam and spotted turtle nests along the beach. The knowledgeable guide and volunteers on site provided us with fascinating information about the endangered Caretta-Caretta turtles and their nesting habits.
Next, we transferred to Laganas Beach to board a glass-bottom boat, which offered a unique perspective on the marine life as we toured the Keri Caves and sailed through the arch. The captain skillfully navigated the boat into the caves, allowing us to witness the stunning interplay of sunlight and water against the cave walls.
We also visited the picturesque Cameo Island, also known as "Wedding Island," where we admired the beautiful secluded beach and snapped some amazing photos. Our tour continued to Marathonisi (Turtle Island), where we had the opportunity to swim, snorkel, and sunbathe on the pristine sandy beach.
The tour concluded with a visit to the Aristeon Ecological Olive Press, where we learned about the history of olive oil making on the island and enjoyed free olive oil tasting.
Throughout the tour, our guide was friendly, informative, and attentive to our needs. The small-group setting, capped at just 12 people, made for a more intimate and personal experience. Round-trip transit via Mercedes-Benz and the inclusion of all fees and taxes, a personal map, boat ticket to Marathonisi Island, bottled water, and full insurance made the tour a seamless and enjoyable experience.
Please note that guests will need to bring their own towels, sunscreen, and snorkeling equipment. Food or drinks are not included, and there is an extra charge of 20€ per booking if your hotel is more than 10 km from the tour office at Lomvardou 20, Zakynthos.
