As an avid traveler, I have visited many beach bars and restaurants, but none have come close to Banana Baya Beach Bar Restaurant in Zakynthos. From the moment I stepped foot on the soft sand and saw the stunning turquoise waters, I knew I was in for a treat.
The atmosphere of Banana Baya is truly unbeatable. The sound of waves crashing onto the shore mixed with the gentle breeze creates a serene environment that instantly puts you at ease. The decor is tasteful, with natural wood accents and colorful cushions adding a pop of brightness to the space. The open-air setup allows for unobstructed views of the stunning scenery, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon or evening.
The service at Banana Baya is also top-notch. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making sure that every guest is well taken care of. They are knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks, offering recommendations and answering any questions we had. We felt welcomed and valued throughout our visit.
Now, onto the food. The menu at Banana Baya is a perfect blend of classic and contemporary dishes, with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients. We started with the avocado bruschetta, which was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The creamy avocado paired perfectly with the crispy bread, and the addition of cherry tomatoes added a nice acidic touch. Next up was the grilled octopus, which was cooked to perfection and served with a zesty lemon and olive oil dressing.
For the main course, I went for the seafood spaghetti, which was one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the tomato sauce was rich and flavorful. The seafood was fresh and cooked just right, with the prawns being particularly succulent. My partner opted for the grilled chicken, which was tender and juicy, with a nice char on the outside. It was served with a side of roasted vegetables, which were cooked to perfection and had a nice smoky flavor.
Of course, no visit to a beach bar is complete without a cocktail (or two). Banana Baya has an extensive drinks menu, with a wide variety of classic and signature cocktails. We tried the signature Banana Baya cocktail, which was fruity and refreshing, with a nice kick of alcohol. We also tried the mojito, which was perfectly balanced and not too sweet.
Overall, I cannot recommend Banana Baya enough. From the stunning location to the friendly service and delicious food, it truly is a hidden gem in Zakynthos. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner for two or a casual lunch with friends, Banana Baya has something for everyone. If you’re visiting Zakynthos, make sure to add it to your list of must-visit spots – you won’t regret it!
