During my recent trip to Zakynthos, I had the pleasure of visiting Xygia Beach, and I have to say it was a truly unforgettable experience. The beach is located on the northern part of the island, and it’s a bit off the beaten path, but it’s well worth the trip.
One of the first things I noticed about Xygia Beach was the crystal-clear turquoise waters. The water is incredibly clear, and you can see all the way to the bottom. This makes it the perfect place for swimming, snorkeling, and other water-based activities. Additionally, the water is known for its high sulfur content, which is believed to have therapeutic properties for the skin.
The beach itself is quite small, but it’s very picturesque. The sand is soft and golden, and there are several rocks and small cliffs that add to the scenery. Additionally, there are several natural caves nearby, which are fun to explore.
One of the things I loved about Xygia Beach was the fact that it’s not too crowded. Even during the peak tourist season, the beach wasn’t overrun with people. This made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Another thing I appreciated about Xygia Beach was the lack of commercialization. There are no beach bars or restaurants on the beach, so it’s important to bring your own snacks and drinks. However, there is a small canteen nearby where you can purchase refreshments.
Overall, I would highly recommend Xygia Beach to anyone visiting Zakynthos. It’s a beautiful and serene beach with crystal-clear waters and stunning scenery. Whether you want to relax and soak up the sun or explore the nearby caves, Xygia Beach is the perfect place to do it. I know I’ll be returning on my next trip to Zakynthos.
